Barnet keeps two kinds of water: the broad slow Connecticut sliding along its eastern edge, and Harvey's Lake up in the west of town, ringed by camps and cottage lawns that run right down to the shore. Ground here tilts; hardly a lawn in town is truly flat, and the hills above McIndoe Falls make every property its own small problem to solve. Solving it is the pleasure.
