About Greenskeepers

By mid-June the air along the York River turns thick and sweet, and Yorktown lawns grow as if they're trying to reach the water. Greenskeepers keeps pace with that Tidewater surge, mowing yards across Yorktown, trimming the corners a mower can't reach and edging every border sharp so the grass stays level. There's an honest satisfaction in a fresh stripe laid down beneath old oaks, the clippings bright on the walk for a moment before they're blown clear. Late in the day, when a breeze finally slips in off the river past Riverwalk Landing, a finished lawn smells of cut grass and salt. That is what the work is for: a yard that looks tended from the curb and feels cool underfoot through the long humid summer.
