About Bloom Lawn + Landscaping

At four in the morning the Coleman Bridge is just a line of lights over black water, and the cold coming down the York has already glazed every windshield facing it. Bloom Lawn + Landscaping is out in that hour, plowing drives and lots, shoveling steps by hand, laying salt where the frost sets hardest. Yorktown does not get buried often, but when a coastal storm swings up the bay it leaves the kind of ice that decides whether anyone gets to work. The satisfaction is early and simple: tire tracks going out clean, a household waking to a driveway someone already handled. By the time the sun clears Gloucester Point, the night's work has gone invisible — which is exactly right.
