About Brookstein

Freezing rain is the Piedmont's particular cruelty: not a snowfall so much as a glaze that arrives overnight and turns a sloped driveway into glass. Brookstein answers it with plowing, scraping and ice treatment across Dale City, taking the surface down to bare pavement and salting before the temperature bottoms out at dawn. Walks, steps and the strip beside the curb get the same attention as the wide part, because those are where a person actually goes down. On rolling ground the difference between a cleared drive and a merely passable one is measured in inches of grip. The job is finished when someone can carry groceries in without thinking about it at all.
