About Curtis Contracting, Inc.

Snow arrives in West Point off the water — wet, heavy, the kind that bends a loblolly branch down over a driveway before daylight. Curtis Contracting, Inc. watches a forecast the way rivermen watch the sky, and is out on the ground while Route 33 is still empty. Plow, shovel, salt: driveways opened, walkways scraped to bare pavement, lots ready before the first car turns in. There is a real satisfaction in a clean apron of asphalt with the Pamunkey running dark past the bridge. By the time the town stirs, the way out has already been made.
