Waynesboro Landscape and Garden Center

About Waynesboro Landscape and Garden Center

Spring reaches Waynesboro from the valley floor upward — the yards off Main Street green a good two weeks before the color finishes climbing the ridge — and that is when Waynesboro Landscape and Garden Center gets loud with work. It is a garden center as much as a crew: beds turned and mulched, plantings set in by hand, lawns mowed and trimmed on a rhythm that keeps pace with everything the season is doing at once. Past the old brick of Basic City the October light goes long and gold, the cuts get shorter, and the beds are put down for the cold. Then the wind swings around and the same people are out with plows and shovels, opening lots and driveways and treating the walkways so they hold underfoot while downtown is still dark. This is a town that shows its care in small frontages, and there is a real satisfaction in handing one back neat.
