Weather this close to the water comes in heavy and wet and can turn to glass by four in the morning, so a route gets run again rather than called finished. From the resort strip inland toward Hilltop and Great Neck the trucks circle until the sky finally goes gray at the edges. Then the gulls come back, the doors open, and a parking lot is just a parking lot again.
