Wheat's Landscape

About Wheat's Landscape

Maple Avenue wakes early in Vienna, and by six the traffic is already threading east toward the towers at Tysons. Wheat's Landscape is usually out ahead of it — mowers off the trailer at first light in summer, blades and spreaders on the same trucks come December. Warm months mean mowing, edging, trimming and cleanups across yards shaded by oaks older than the road; cold ones mean plowing drives and lots and salting walks before the first commute. The pleasure is in the handoff: a lawn cut in long even passes, or a driveway opened wide and dark while the sky is still gray over the Piedmont.
