Blue Grass Oils

About Blue Grass Oils

Tazewell measures green against Burke's Garden, that limestone bowl of pasture folded into the mountains east of town, and a June morning out there sets a high bar. Blue Grass Oils works in lawn care, which in this country means reading the soil as closely as the sky, since mountain ground drains fast in one yard and holds water in the next. Mowing, trimming, the patient cleanup after a hard growing spell: it adds up to a lawn that looks like it belongs to the valley rather than argues with it. The last pass of the day is worth standing back for, when the stripes run true and the air smells like cut grass and weather coming. Around Tazewell, that counts as a good afternoon's work.
