About S&C Landscaping

Two hills keep watch over Staunton — Betsy Bell and Mary Gray — and on a late-August evening the light slides off them the color of honey. That is S&C Landscaping's favorite hour to finish a yard: the mower stilled, the edge along the walk drawn straight enough to follow with a finger, the grass holding the last of the day. Their lawn care runs the length of the warm months, week after week, until the maples finally give it up. Then the Queen City tilts toward winter and the same trucks come back with plows and shovels, opening drives and walkways while the streets are still blue with early dark. Snow here arrives sideways off the Alleghenies or not at all, and either way somebody has to be awake for it. S&C would rather be the ones already moving.
