About Dirty Deeds

Some yards get put off until they are no longer a mowing job. Around the Bells Lane loop and out along the edges of Staunton, a fencerow disappears into honeysuckle by July and a vacant side lot goes waist-high in a month — which is exactly where Dirty Deeds starts. Brush cutting and tall-grass knockdown come first, then the fence lines and the ground around the outbuildings, then a regular mowing schedule so it never climbs back up there again. Midsummer here makes it slow going, and the work is loud, dusty and thoroughly satisfying. The before and after is the entire point.
