About Commander Contracting Co.

Out past the last houses the land flattens toward the Chickahominy, and in winter the wind crosses it with nothing at all to slow it down. Commander Contracting Co. plows Highland Springs through that weather — driveways, walkways and commercial lots opened wide, with de-icer on the entrances and anywhere runoff refreezes. Snow in this part of Virginia comes wet and heavy and often paired with sleet, so it gets pushed while it is still moving. A parking lot cleared to the stripes by opening time is an ordinary miracle most people never think about. When the storm quits, the leftover ridges are shaved down and the piles set where they will not block a sightline.
