About Blackwater Nursery & Landscaping

The Blackwater River runs east of Rocky Mount toward the lake, and the bottomland it feeds greens up a good week ahead of the ridges. Blackwater Nursery & Landscaping keeps that calendar — first mow when the ground firms, then the steady cadence of cutting and trimming through a Franklin County summer, then seeding and feeding to carry a lawn into fall. A yard here has to hold its own against red clay, a slope and a dry August. Getting it to hold — thick, level in color, dark all the way to the property line — is the part worth doing twice over. The work runs from town out along the river roads.
