Valley Tree

About Valley Tree

Snow lies longest on the north slopes above Collinsville, in the shade where the ridge keeps the sun off until well past noon. Valley Tree offers snow removal — plowing, shoveling walks and steps, and laying salt where a hard freeze locks in behind the storm. Up on the hills a driveway can be a genuine climb, and clearing it well means going over it twice and knowing where the ice likes to hide. There is a satisfaction in a bare drive with the snow still holding across the fields on either side. Cold weather is short in this country, so the work is about being ready more than being busy.
