About Tunstall's Excavating

Roanoke grew up around the railroad, and on a February morning freight still rumbles through the valley while snow gathers on the stalls of the historic City Market downtown. Tunstall's Excavating brings snow removal to the city, clearing the way after a storm blankets the valley. Steep streets and long drives need attention fast, before traffic and cold pack them hard. The pleasure is in a surface scraped clean and level, with the snow pushed far enough back to leave room for the next round. From Tinker Mountain down to the river the valley may stay white for days, but the drive does not.
