Roanoke City Snow Removal

About Roanoke City Snow Removal

When it snows hard the Star on Mill Mountain goes soft and haloed, and downtown falls into a silence it never has otherwise. Roanoke City Snow Removal is out under it — plowing lots and alleys off the Market, clearing entryways and sidewalks, laying salt before the morning crowd comes looking for coffee. City snow is a different animal than a driveway: nowhere to push it, curbs and hydrants and loading zones to keep open, and a deadline set by whenever the first door unlocks. Shovels handle the corners no blade can reach. By opening time the brick is wet and dark and the day simply happens, which is the whole point.
