About VirginiaGreen

Winter shows up in Richmond sideways — a line of sleet moving up the river corridor at four in the morning, ticking on the metal roofs of Scott's Addition and glazing the lots before a single alarm goes off. That is the hour VirginiaGreen keeps: plow blade down, shovels working the steps and doorways, de-icer going out ahead of the freeze so the first car of the day rolls onto pavement instead of glass. A drive cleared before dawn is a small thing that changes an entire day, and they treat it as exactly that. Come summer the same trucks are out along Broad Street and the streets that run off it, mowing, edging, trimming close to fence lines and tree rings, then gathering the leaves once the sycamores finally let go. One city, two entirely different weathers, and steady hands in both.
