About Mowin Owen RVA

The Fan is a city of small yards and long alleys, and the mowing happens in narrow rooms between rowhouse walls. Mowin Owen RVA works those pockets, trimming and edging close along brick and iron, keeping the strip of grass by the sidewalk squared to the curb. Late spring the crepe myrtles come on and everything wants to grow at once; by October it is leaves off the parking strips from Grove Avenue over to Carytown. A tight yard is harder than a big one, and it shows more when the lines are true. Richmond's oldest blocks were laid out by hand, and the grass in them still is.
