Green Velvet Lawn

About Green Velvet Lawn

September is the honest month for a Richmond lawn — nights cool off, the fescue wakes up, and whatever you do then shows in April. Green Velvet Lawn keeps that calendar along Cary Street Road and through the shaded streets of Windsor Farms and the West End, mowing, edging and trimming across the season. Summer here tests turf hard, so the cut runs high through the heat and the mower lines get set to show the grain of the grass. Fall means cleanup, a last pass, and beds cleared before the cold arrives. There is a particular satisfaction in a lawn that reads even from the sidewalk to the porch steps, and that is what the work is for.
