About Cabrera & Sons LLC

Downtown snow behaves differently than anywhere else in Richmond: it drifts into the alleys off Jackson Ward, packs into the stair treads of a hundred rowhouses, and turns every stretch of shaded sidewalk into something to be careful about. Cabrera & Sons LLC works those close quarters through the winter — plowing what can be plowed, shoveling the narrow walks and front steps by hand, and salting the shadowed strips that never see sun in January. The city's grid is unforgiving of half-done work, so the crews finish edge to edge and door to curb. When the melt starts running toward the storm drains, the block is already walkable. Small spaces, done thoroughly, is the specialty.
