Aman Arbor and Yard

About Aman Arbor and Yard

West of the city, along the Three Chopt and Tuckahoe roads, the year swings hard between two extremes. In June the yards are lush to the point of unruliness, and Aman Arbor and Yard keeps them in hand with mowing, edging and trimming, then clears the cuttings so the driveway looks intentional again. In January the same roads can glaze over in a single night of freezing drizzle, and the work becomes plowing, shoveling the front steps by hand, and salting the walk before anyone has to guess at their footing. There is a plain pride in getting a driveway open while the streetlights are still on, and just as much in a lawn that ends the summer looking cared for. Both jobs are really the same job: making a place usable, whatever the sky has decided.
