Native Roots

About Native Roots

Between the hills at Hillsboro the road narrows, the old stone walls come right up to the pavement, and a snow turns the whole gap into a white corridor. Native Roots handles snow removal through these back valleys — plowing drives and lanes, clearing walks and steps, and coming back once the wind has quietly undone the first pass. The ground out here remembers every storm; meadows hold their drifts long after the main roads have dried. Getting a place open is half practical and half neighborly, because in this country the next house may be a mile off. By the time light reaches the meadows, the drives are open and the day can start on time.
