About M.B. Winfree & Son Landworks

Along Powhatan's northern edge the James River runs wide, and in a hard cold snap a lace of ice forms in its shallows while the fields above lie under white. M.B. Winfree & Son Landworks brings snow removal to this stretch of farm country, where lanes wind back from the road past pasture fence and stands of oak. Clearing a drive that long is patient work, and the reward is good footing from the house all the way out to the pavement. Each pass leaves the snow banked neatly along the fence line and the gravel or blacktop showing through. It is the quiet pleasure of reopening a place the storm meant to close.
