About Dee Short Landscaping and Lawn Care

There is a spring week in Petersburg — usually the second one in April — when the meadow grass out toward Battersea goes from brown to green almost overnight. Dee Short Landscaping and Lawn Care meets it with the first cut of the year, then keeps the rhythm going: mowing, edging, trimming, tending beds and borders, carrying off what the season sheds. Yards here run from flat open turf to sloped and shaded, and each one asks for a slightly different pass. The pleasure is in the shape of the finished thing — a mowed field of a front yard with its edges held tight against the walk. By the time the leaves fall they are back to clear them, closing the year the way they opened it.
