About Ashby Rider's Lawn Care Services

South of Orange the land opens into board fence and horse pasture, and Route 20 rolls toward Barboursville past hayfields the color of a lion in August. Ashby Rider's Lawn Care Services keeps the mowed ground in that country — lawns, verges, the strip between the yard and the field — with mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal cleanups. Piedmont winter brings ice more often than deep snow, and when it does the crew is out plowing drives, clearing walks and salting the slick pitch of a country turnaround. What comes of it is a farm lane opened ahead of the feed run and a lawn cut level against a fence line that runs straight to the treeline. Both are ordinary work, and both change how a place feels.
