About Chesapeake Outdoor

Onancock grew up along its creek, a deep tidal arm reaching west toward the Chesapeake Bay, and summer evenings here end with copper light pooling on the water by the town wharf. Chesapeake Outdoor tends lawns in this harbor town, mowing and trimming in the salt-soft air that keeps the grass lush from late spring well into fall. Yards sit close to the street among old clapboard houses, so an even cut and a neat border lift the whole streetscape along with the lawn. There is a particular pleasure in finishing a yard as the boats tie up and the creek goes glassy, fresh stripes catching what remains of the day. It is the kind of tidiness that suits a town built facing the water.
