Lawn Linx

About Lawn Linx

Fog settles into the bowl of Norton most summer mornings and lifts off the ridges by nine, and by then Lawn Linx is out with the mowers. Lawn care in the Virginia coalfields means grass that grows hard on mountain rain and slopes that never quite agree to lie flat, so the trimming and edging matter as much as the cut itself. There is real satisfaction in a striped yard under High Knob, the lines running straight across ground with no intention of being straight. Cleanups in spring, steady mowing through the green months, leaf work when the maples above town begin letting go. The smallest city in Virginia keeps its yards like a front room, and that is a good standard to work to.
