Weaver Works

About Weaver Works

Up the Rapidan toward Graves Mill the hollows hold snow days after it has gone from the valley floor, and the shaded stretches of road glaze over again every single night. Weaver Works plows that upcountry side of Madison, where the drives are long, the grades are real, and a turnaround has to be cut wide enough to actually turn around in. Snow is stacked where it won't blind the exit onto the road. Porch steps and walkways are dug out by hand and given salt, so the path to the door is solid underfoot. The measure of a night's work is simple: whether the truck can get out in the morning without a second thought.
