Spring Green

About Spring Green

Green-up in Amherst County happens nearly overnight — one mild week in April and the lawns of Madison Heights go from straw to something worth looking at. Spring Green rides that turn with mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups, week after week, until the grass finally slows under a hard frost. Then the calendar flips: winter comes to central Virginia in short, serious visits, and driveways, walkways and lots need plowing, shoveling and salt before the morning commute finds them. Two different kinds of work, one habit — show up when the weather says so. It is a fine thing to stand at the road in either season and see a property that has been kept.
