About Mr. Pave

Three in the morning on Lakeside Drive, the lots white and empty, and the only thing moving is a blade down on the pavement. Mr. Pave works the hours nobody sees, pushing snow into piles that will not block a sightline, scraping the lanes back to dark asphalt, laying salt across the entrances before the first employee turns in. By seven the parking spaces have their lines again. Doorways and sidewalks come by hand, because that is where people actually put their feet. Snow removal in Lynchburg for the places that have to open no matter what fell overnight.
