About S&S Dirt Works LLC

A heavy snow up here does not melt for days; it lies on the open fields and gets scoured into drifts by the wind coming over the ridge. S&S Dirt Works LLC moves it — plowing long drives and lanes around Hillsville, opening turnarounds and lot entrances, pushing the banks back so the next storm has somewhere to go. Walks and steps are cleared and treated, so the path from the house to the truck stays walkable all day. Big equipment and mountain snow suit one another; there is no substitute for a bucket when a drive is buried past the mailbox. A farm road open end to end at daybreak is a good way to start a winter day.
