About VirginiaGreen

August mornings in Fox Hill arrive already warm, dew sitting heavy on the grass and the marsh past Back River going silver before the sun clears the loblollies. That is the hour VirginiaGreen likes for lawn care in Hampton — cutting while the turf is still cool, trimming close around fence posts and mailbox stands, running the edge back to a true line. Tidewater grass grows hard in the heat and sulks through a dry spell, so the job is as much reading a yard as cutting it: height set for the month, clippings left where they will do some good, walks blown clean so no green dust tracks indoors. By the time the day turns heavy the crew has moved on and the lawn looks as though it was simply always that way. Later, when the pines and oaks let go and the yards fill with leaves, the same attention goes into raking Hampton back to open ground.
