About J & H Lawn Services

The Hampton River bends back on itself below Willow Oaks, and in winter the water goes the color of pewter while the lawns along it wait out the cold. J & H Lawn Services works the storms that reach this part of Virginia only once or twice a year — plowing driveways, clearing walks down to the pavement, salting where shade holds ice long after the road has dried. Coastal snow is heavy stuff, closer to wet cement than to powder, and it sets up fast if it is left alone. Getting a drive opened early means a car leaves on time and nobody takes a step they cannot see. There is something clean about finishing a street's worth of driveways before the day has properly started.
