Green Hill

About Green Hill

Old Centreville sits up on a rise, and from up there the town reads as treetops with roofs pushed through them. Green Hill keeps the yards under those roofs: mowing and edging through the growing season, leaf work once the oaks let go, and plowing and shoveling when the hill turns slick and the grade suddenly matters more than it did in July. A slope is the whole story in winter — it decides where snow gets pushed and where it had better not go. Done right, the driveway drains, the walk stays passable, and nobody has to think about it again. Done right in summer, the grass holds its color into August and the beds keep their lines.
