Thorpe’s Tree Service and Landscaping

About Thorpe’s Tree Service and Landscaping

Cold pools in the hollows around Gordonsville. A north slope that never sees sun will hold a sheet of ice a week after the pastures have gone green-brown again, and that is the ground Thorpe's Tree Service and Landscaping works all winter. Plowing driveways, breaking out walkways and steps, salting the low spots and shaded curves — much of the job is finding the places that stay dangerous after everyone else has forgotten the storm. The nights are long and the truck heater does most of the arguing, but a lane opened wide enough to turn around in makes the case for itself. Service covers Gordonsville and the farm roads running out toward Orange, Somerset and Louisa.
