Mason's Tree Service

About Mason's Tree Service

Out at Goode the land rolls in long pasture toward the Peaks of Otter, and the tree line is fencerow oak, walnut and cedar left standing since the fields were first cleared. Mason's Tree Service tends that country — dropping a hollow trunk before it comes down across the fence on its own, trimming limbs back off a barn roof or a farm lane, pruning the yard trees around the house so they keep their shape. Storms come over the Blue Ridge in a hurry here and can put a whole crown in the driveway between supper and dark. The cleanup that follows is the honest part of the job: saw, carry, rake, and leave the lane open. On a clear evening after, Sharp Top goes blue behind the barn and the place looks kept.
