About Commonwealth Landcare Inc.

Richmond sits on the fall line, where the James stops being a piedmont river and starts breaking over rock, and you can hear the rapids from Belle Isle on a still day. Commonwealth Landcare Inc. works both sides of the city's year with that same steadiness: mowing, edging and trimming through the long humid stretch from April to October, with the cuttings cleared and the walks left clean. Then on the handful of mornings when the city wakes up white, the trucks are out plowing drives and lots, shoveling entries by hand, and salting the walks before the refreeze takes hold. Warm season or cold snap, the ambition is the same — a property that looks tended and works the way it should. That is enough to be proud of.
