Smittys Tree Service

About Smittys Tree Service

Happy Creek comes down off the mountain and through Front Royal, and the oaks along it hold their leaves late, coppery into November. Smittys Tree Service is out under them through that stretch — trimming what hangs over a roof, taking out the ash that finally gave up, opening ground that had grown shut. Their pruning is the unhurried kind, one limb at a time, the crown left balanced instead of shorn. When wind comes over the ridge and drops half a tree in a side yard, that call gets a truck and a chipper. Nothing about it is complicated; it is simply done, all the way through the raking.
