Between Front Royal and Waterlick, Reliance Road runs through open farm country that drifts shut faster than almost anywhere else in the county. Schrock's Land Management is out there in the middle of the night when that happens, plowing drives, lanes and lots, cutting walks and steps clear, and spreading salt and ice melt where shade keeps a slick patch alive all day. A long gravel lane takes a different pass than a paved apron, and it gets one. Storms in this valley usually come with wind, which means the same driveway may need opening twice before morning. It gets opened twice.
