Sisters With A Mower

About Sisters With A Mower

Idlewild wakes slowly on a Saturday, and the first sound on the street is usually a mower starting up. Sisters With A Mower runs the warm months across Fredericksburg's neighborhoods — cutting, edging along the walks, string-trimming the fence lines, and clearing the clippings so nothing is left behind but stripes. When the weather turns, the work turns with it: plowing driveways, shoveling front steps and porches, salting the path from the door out to the curb. Small yards reward small attentions, and there is real joy in handing a street back to itself, tidy. Whatever the month asks for is what gets done.
