About Emerald Stone Landscape LLC

Fredericksburg has a great deal of stone underfoot: front steps, garden walks, the low walls along Washington Avenue where the grass mall runs down the middle of the street. Emerald Stone Landscape LLC clears all of it in winter, shoveling steps and walkways, plowing drives, spreading salt where a north-facing slab will not let go of its ice. A wet snow here can come in overnight at an inch an hour, and stone holds cold long after the air has warmed. That means returning, sometimes twice, before a surface is genuinely sound. There is a plain pleasure in a swept walk with the stone showing dark and dry and the yard beside it still under white.
