Leaves and Mulch

About Leaves and Mulch

For about two weeks in November the tulip poplars and oaks over Fort Hunt let go of everything at once, and a lawn can disappear beneath it between one Sunday and the next. Leaves and Mulch does what the name says and then some — leaf cleanup by the truckload in fall, beds edged and topped dark in spring, and the mowing, trimming and edging that carries a yard from one to the other. Cleared grass going into winter comes back thicker, and fresh mulch in April makes an ordinary front walk look deliberate. The reward is watching a smothered yard reappear in a single afternoon.
