About Vassar Land & Forestry LLC

Out toward the state forest the pines hold their snow long after the open fields have gone bare, and then let it fall in slabs onto the lane below. Vassar Land & Forestry LLC keeps those wooded lanes and drives passable all winter — plowing them through, opening the turnaround at the top, shoveling walks and steps, and salting the low shaded runs where ice forms first and leaves last. A drive under trees is its own problem, and it takes a second pass more often than not. The work is done quietly, before light, and the sign of it is simply a family that gets out to the county road without incident.
