Late April is Farmville's best argument for itself — dogwoods opening white all over town, the Dogwood Festival filling the streets, and the lawns coming in thick and impatient. Evergreen Thumb Lawn Care spends that stretch mowing, edging and trimming ahead of the growth instead of chasing it. Grass on the shaded lots near the May Museum and Park behaves nothing like grass on an open corner in full coastal-plain sun, and the work is knowing which one you are standing on. A yard cut clean in spring sets the tone for the long green season that follows. There is a plain pleasure in stepping back from a lawn that looks like somebody meant it.
