About Slate & Spivey Inc

The first hard freeze in Greensville County arrives without much warning: one night the fields go silver and the puddles on the farm lanes turn to plate glass. Slate & Spivey Inc works the season that follows, plowing and clearing drives and lots around Emporia, breaking up ice and treating the places where it keeps re-forming. Snow this far south is a guest that overstays in the shade and vanishes in the sun, which makes reading a property the real skill. Done right, a driveway is passable before anybody has to test it on foot. That is the standard the work gets held to, storm after storm.
