Southside Mulching

About Southside Mulching

Winter opens the country up around Danville — the tobacco fields go to stubble and pale, the tree lines show every branch, and a January dawn carries a long way. Southside Mulching works those cold mornings, plowing snow off driveways and parking areas and clearing walks so a place is usable by the time anyone needs it. Snow does not come often to this stretch of the state, which is exactly why it stops everything when it does. The equipment is staged before the first flakes and moving before the roads are. There is something steady about handing back a clean dark strip of pavement with the field still white on either side.
