About W. D. Giampa Lawn and Landscapes

Late October light comes in low across the cul-de-sacs of Dale City, and at that hour every lawn shows exactly what was done to it that week. W. D. Giampa Lawn and Landscapes reads a yard the way you read a room: where the mower should turn, where the bed line wants to run, which corner of red Virginia clay never quite lets go of the rain. Mowing, trimming, edging, bed work and the long leaf haul of a Piedmont autumn — the ordinary list, done in order, done all the way to the end. What makes it worth the ride home is the last look back from the truck, clippings blown off the walk, the border cut clean, the grass all leaning one direction. That is the craft, cul-de-sac by cul-de-sac, from Dale City into Woodbridge, Lake Ridge and Manassas.
