D & M Tree Service

About D & M Tree Service

Freight trains still mark the hours past the depot on Commerce Street, and after an ice storm you can hear the county cracking — a rifle-shot somewhere out in the dark, then another. D & M Tree Service answers that morning: hauling out the trees that split at the crotch, clearing what the ice pulled down across drives and fences, cutting the hangers that would come loose in the next wind. When the weather eases, the work turns to trimming weight off the maples that lean toward porches, and pruning cuts a tree can actually close. There is a quiet pride in an alley off Davis Street opened by noon, gravel smoothed, nothing left behind but the smell of fresh sawdust.
