About Gray and Son's Construction, Inc.

Snow does not visit Southampton County often, but when it does it lays down flat and total across the peanut ground and turns the straight roads into Franklin into one pale ribbon. Gray and Son's Construction, Inc. is out in the dark on those mornings, plowing driveways, farm lanes and business lots so Courtland can move before the sun starts glazing everything over. Down here the trouble is usually the ice riding under the snow, and clearing to the pavement is what makes the difference between a passable lot and a skating rink. There is a specific pleasure in finishing a big yard at dawn, the whole surface dark and open, snow banked neatly at the edges. Rare weather, handled properly.
