About Virginia Southern Lawn Services

Snow on a beach town is a strange and lovely thing — white along the bulkheads, white on the pier rail, gulls standing around looking put out about it. Virginia Southern Lawn Services turns out for those mornings in Colonial Beach, plowing drives and lots and clearing the walks before the first light comes flat and silver off the Potomac. Storms that reach this far down the river tend to be heavy and short-lived, which means the window to move snow is narrow and the ice underneath matters as much as the inches on top. Getting a lot opened early, salted and passable is the point, and the empty scraped pavement is the proof. By noon the water has taken most of it back, and the town is moving again.
